Myrtaceae Myrtle family

The myrtle or Myrtaceae family contains approximately 6,000 species in 132 genera and is distributed widely in tropical and temperate areas of the world.

Some of the more commonly recognized genera are: the bottlebrushes (Callistemon), eucalyptus (Eucalyptus), myrtle (Myrica) and allspice (Pimenta).
