Cercis graffithii
Afghan speciesThe Afghan redbud is in the pea or Fabaceae family and is closely related to the Judas tree (C. siliquastrum) and as the name suggests, is native to the Middle East.
It is useful as a small tree often under-planted with perennials. The pale, rosy-magenta flowers persist longer than our native species, and are present when the foliage emerges.
