Picea wilsonii
青扦 Wilson speciesWilson spruce is in the pine or Pinaceae family and is native to China, growing from 1400 to 2800 m in elevation. It can reach up to 50 m tall.
- Leaves are needle-like, quadrangular, 8–13 mm long and 1.5 mm broad, blunt-pointed, needles directed forward on the upper side of the branchlets. They are mounted on short pegs.
- Cones are pendulous, non-fragmenting, ovoid, 5–8 cm long, 2.5–4.0 cm broad, maturing yellow-brown. Cone scales are thin, broadly rounded.
- Bark is gray with irregular plates.
