cashew family
The cashew (also called sumac) or Anacardiaceae family includes several genera of economic importance: cashew, pistachio and mango.
The genera of most interest to gardeners are the smoketree (Cotinus) and the sumac (Rhus).
Other important genera also include the mango (Mangifera) for its stone fruit mangoes, the pistachio (Pistacica) for pistachio nuts, and the Toxicodendron genus for production lacquer (urushi) for Chinese and Japanese lacquerware.
