Acer pubipalmatum

- Leaves are deciduous, simple, opposite, 4–5.5 cm long and 5–7.5 cm across, 5 lobes (rarely 7), with deep sinuses 4/5 of the limbus; lobes are lanciolate, with acute teeth, dark green on top, pale green underneath with dense white villi hairs; petiole is 2–4 cm long.
- Flowers are terminal, in corymbs, usually 5-8 violet flowers, 5 oval sepals with ciliate margins, 5 ovate petals.
- Winged samaras are double, 1-2 cm long, somewhat pubescent, wings with an obtuse angle.
- Bark is pale gray, rough, with some longitudinal splits; twigs are fine, gray-green; bugs are purple, somewhat pointed.
