Siberian dogwood is in the dogwood or Cornaceae family and is native to Siberia, northern China and Korea. It is a large shrub that can be grown as a small tree and is popular for landscaping. It can grow to 3 m high.

As a popular ornamental, its notable features include the red stems in fall (autumn) through late winter, the brightest winter bark of any Cornus, and the variegated foliage in some cultivars.

  • Leaves are simple, opposite, elliptic to ovate and grow to 5–10 cm long and 2.5–4 cm broad.
  • Species is monoecious. Flowers are small, pale white, with 4 petals, in inflorescences 5 to 12 cm across; developing berries are round, typically white, 6 mm across.
