Cornus Eddie's White Wonder

Eddie's White Wonder species

CornaceaeCornus

Eddie's White Wonder dogwood is a member of the dogwood or Cornaceae family and as a large-flower dogwood, is a cross between C. florida and C. nuttallii. It has the whitest of white very large flowers in spring and doesn't suffer from anthracnose like the more susceptible C. nuttallii.

  • Many of its features are similar to C. nuttallii except that unlike C. nuttallii , it only flowers in the spring, and as a hybrid, it is sterile (doesn't produce large berries in the fall, unlike C. nuttallii).
  • Being a hybrid and being propagated by cuttings from the same original tree, trees in the species are all quite similar in appearance.
