The kurajong bottletree is a small to medium-sized tree in the mallow or Malvaceae family and is native to a diversity of habitats in Australia. The extended trunk is a water storage device for survival in a warm, dry climate. Height can be up to 23 m tall.

  • The tree has a green or gray trunk and which is wider at the base, resembling a bottle shape.
  • Leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, lanceolate, entire, glossy green, on long petioles.
  • Bell-shaped flowers are 1.5–3 cm across, white on the outside and colourfully red-patterned on the inside, developing in the spring or summer.
  • Fruit is a brown capsule 3–7 long.
