Brachychiton rupestris
narrow-leaved speciesThe Queensland bottle tree in the mallow or Malvaceae family is endemic to Queensland, to near the New South Wales border. Trees reach 10–25 m tall.
- Bark is dark grey and fissured; trunk is often cylindrical and bottle-shaped.
- Leaves are deciduous, simple or divided, with 1 or more narrow leaf blades up to 11 cm long and 2 cm wide.
- Flowers are showy, cream or red coloured, flowering in spring or summer.
- Fruit is a brown pod (follicle), woody, boat shaped with short incurved beak.
