Willow-leaf hebe, or koromiko is in the plantain or Platantaginaceae family and is native to South Island of New Zealand and in Chile. It is one of the larger Hebe species, growing up to 3 m tall, with quite wide-spread foliage.

The plant also is referred to as Veronica salicifolia.

  • Form can be described as “Willow like” due to its drooping appearance, hence the name New Zealand Willow.
  • Leaves are evergreen, opposite, narrow, spear-shaped, up to 12 cm long, olive green colour, with hairs on the mid rib.
  • Flowers are white and/or violet, in masses on corymbs up to 24 cm long; they have a pleasant, strong scent and mature in early to mid-summer.
