Vitaceae grape family

The grape family contains 13 genera and 800 species of tropical and subtropical climbing plants, with stems usually bearing tendrils opposite the leaf.

One of its most important genera is Vitis, which contains V. vinifera, cultivated for its juicy fruit and for fermenting into wine.
