Trochodendraceae family
The Trochodendraceae family of deciduous or evergreen trees includes only 2 genera, each with only one species. The 2 genera are: Tetracentron and Trochodendron.
Members of the family are widely distributed throughout to Southeast Asia.
Trochodendron and Tetracentron are quite unusual angiosperms in that they lack vessel elements in their wood, a very primitive character.
