Podocarpaceae Podocarpaceae family

Podocarpaceae is a large family of conifers found mainly in the Southern Hemisphere, containing 19 genera and about 156 species of evergreen trees and shrubs.

Its main concentrations are in Australasia (New Caledonia, Tasmania, and New Zealand), and to a slightly lesser extent Malesia and South America (primarily in the Andes mountains); several genera extend north of the equator into Indochina and the Philippines, even reaching north into southern Japan, southern China, Mexico and southern India.
